Sector Specific Advisory Committees
These committees have a primary role in establishing the Training Package Continuous Improvement Plans for each industry sector. Based on their industry intelligence, feedback from their stakeholders and the Environmental Scan, outputs from the Advisory Committees will determine priority areas for Training Package reviews and the exploration of areas where changes in industry practice/technology are likely to affect skill needs and labour requirements.
These committees also play a pivotal role in examining where research and workforce development programs need to be targeted in the industry. This work will be informed through ASA and stakeholder communications and will form a pivotal function where the development of vocational qualifications and workforce development initiatives come together.
Sector Advisory Committees:
- Set the Projected Training Package Continuous Improvement Plan
- Monitor actions to meet the outcomes of the plan
- Confirm that agreed processes for stakeholder engagement have occurred
Outcomes from these committees are reported to the National Training Advisory Committee by the chairs of the Advisory Committees and via reports to the Board from the CEO.
Information provided to Advisory Committees is also made available through the ASA Sector Advisory Committee web pages and includes:
- Scoping Plans for anticipated work projects for the Committee
- Minutes of previous meetings
- Timetable for proposed meetings.
Stakeholders who are not a member of the Committee can also access information from the secretariat of the Committee, and the Training Package Specialist who is responsible for the management of the Committee.
